Clinical & Prescribing Information

1. Therapeutic Indications & Overview

NVHOPE-OD is a combination of Doxylamine Succinate (an antihistamine), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), and Folic Acid. It targets nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP)—commonly known as morning sickness—with a convenient once-daily dosing regimen.

Approved Clinical Indications:

Management support for pregnancy induced nausea and vomiting

2. Mechanism of Action

Doxylamine blocks H1 histamine receptors and cholinergic activity to suppress the brain's vomiting center. Pyridoxine Hcl works on neurotransmitter metabolism to reduce nausea. Folic acid is included to support neural tube development in the early fetus during the critical first trimester.

3. Dosage & Administration

Usually taken as one tablet daily at bedtime on an empty stomach. If symptoms are severe, dosage may be adjusted as per clinical judgment.

*Note: The exact dosage schedule must be tailored to the individual clinical response and patient profile under doctor supervision.

4. Clinical Efficacy & Safety Profile

The combination of doxylamine and pyridoxine is recognized by global obstetric guidelines as the first-line pharmacotherapy for morning sickness due to its proven efficacy and extensive fetal safety profile.

5. Precautions & Contraindications

May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery after taking the dose. Do not take with alcohol, CNS depressants, or MAO inhibitors.
