Clinical & Prescribing Information
1. Therapeutic Indications & Overview
Cornfyl SR 200 is a sustained-release formulation containing natural micronized progesterone. Designed to release progesterone gradually over an extended period, it ensures stable and consistent serum levels, avoiding the peaks and troughs of standard oral progesterone.
Habitual Abortion, Threatened Abortion, Luteal Phase Defect, Premenstrual Syndrome, Secondary Amenorrhea
2. Mechanism of Action
Progesterone is the primary hormone responsible for maintaining the uterine lining (endometrium) in a state receptive to embryo implantation and development. The sustained release mechanism ensures continuous endometrial support during the critical early stages of pregnancy.
3. Dosage & Administration
Typically administered once daily, preferably at bedtime, or as recommended by your physician to reduce mild sedative effects associated with progesterone.
*Note: The exact dosage schedule must be tailored to the individual clinical response and patient profile under doctor supervision.
4. Clinical Efficacy & Safety Profile
Sustained-release natural progesterone has been clinically proven to improve pregnancy outcomes in cases of luteal phase defect, leading to higher implantation rates and reduced threat of early miscarriages.
5. Precautions & Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with active deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, liver dysfunction, or breast cancer. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and hepatic panels is advised during long-term therapy.
