Clinical & Prescribing Information

1. Therapeutic Indications & Overview

ESMOFYL-DSR is a synergistic combination of Esomeprazole (an enteric-coated proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a sustained-release dopamine antagonist). It targets both acid overproduction and delayed gastric emptying.

Approved Clinical Indications:

GERD, hyperacidity and associated nausea

2. Mechanism of Action

Esomeprazole selectively inhibits H+/K+-ATPase pumps in gastric parietal cells, significantly reducing acid secretion. Domperidone acts as a prokinetic, increasing upper gastrointestinal motility and strengthening lower esophageal sphincter tone to prevent acid reflux and alleviate nausea.

3. Dosage & Administration

One capsule daily in the morning, taken at least 30-60 minutes before breakfast, or as directed by your physician.

*Note: The exact dosage schedule must be tailored to the individual clinical response and patient profile under doctor supervision.

4. Clinical Efficacy & Safety Profile

The combination of esomeprazole and domperidone provides significantly superior symptom relief and healing of erosive esophagitis compared to PPI therapy alone in patients with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

5. Precautions & Contraindications

Should be used with caution in patients with cardiac conditions, hepatic impairment, or hypokalemia. Long-term PPI use should be supervised to monitor bone density and magnesium levels.
